Niki – the young owner of the small 27 sqm apt had very clear ideas in her head how she wanted to use her apartment and what she wanted to do. First of all the little kitchen that originated from the beginning of the 40is is modernized and incorporates with the rest of the space. It suddenly becames much more easily accessible and the beautiful Marocan tile adds an ‘eye catching’ value. The opened space now offers a large and functional working space. Walls and shelves are used for cups, tools and storage. The plastic floor in the kitchen, less than a sqm was taken out and replaced by the same oak parquet as in rest of the space.
In order to facilitate multifunctionality in the apartment and a possibility for a couple to live here, a permanent small but double bed was installed on shelves storing clothes. As light is rare in wintertime in Scandinavia, especially before the snowy season, a vintage window is built-in, in the innerwall to spread light to the rest of the space from the window.
